It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the 77th and 78th Council Meeting and 20th General Assembly of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), taking place in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 6 to 10, 2025.

In APAA, we represent a community of dedicated professionals committed to promoting and enhancing intellectual property protection in the Asian region. Our association has a rich history, dating back to 1969, and has grown to become a powerful voice in Asia and Oceania.

As always, this meeting presents an opportunity for us to come together, share knowledge, participate in high level Round Table discussions and workshops, meet old friends, forge new ties and of course, interact in most joyful and engaging social events.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Co-Chairs of the Organising Committee Linda Wang and Michael Soo, and our hosts, the Malaysia Group, for their tireless efforts in putting together this event, despite unexpected challenges that cropped up recently, compelling us to reschedule this event at a very short notice.

I am also grateful to the Executive Committee, the Advisory Committees, and the Chairs and members of various Standing Committees and Adhoc Committees who work tirelessly behind the scene to bring to us world class APAA Conference year after year.

I look forward to seeing you all at what promises to be an extremely productive and enjoyable meeting, in the thriving metropolis of Kuala Lumpur renowned for its modern skyline, cultural diversity, exotic street food and rich history.
